7. MARGARITA'S

I’m a huge Mexican cuisine fan, so I’m surprised how long it’s taken for me to give Margarita’s a try. It’s right in the heart of Tumon, but appeared to have more of a nice, small crowd of locals rather than tourists. The staff waited on us quickly and the restaurant owner generously greeted us at our table. To start, we were served the customary chips and salsa, which came with two choices: a red tomato salsa or a green tomatillo salsa verde.  It was my first time to try the tomatillo salsa verde and I loved it. I could have easily filled myself on this appetizer alone. For the main course, I ordered the Kalbi Burrito, a seasoned shredded beef burrito, which came with tortilla chips on the side lightly covered in sour cream. For $12, the serving size was good. I would’ve preferred the burrito with less beans and minus the onions, something I’ll remember in the future. Would I come back? Yes, especially with the extensive menu and the genuine customer service. I give Margarita’s a [B] rating. ~La-Di Da-Di

-----
FOOD: I ordered the Super Burrito and paid extra for sauce and cheese on top. I chose the steak over the chicken, ground beef and pork. I did not care for the sauce on top. It tasted more like marinara rather than salsa. The burrito consisted of rice, bean, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and steak wrapped in a tortilla, but it did not taste like the burritos I've tried at other Mexican restaurants (outside of Guam). Food was not exactly delicious, but it was not terrible either. I won’t order the burrito again, but there are so many other items on the menu that I am sure I can find something that's worth going back for.

PRICE: Average prices for the food were between $9.00 and $12.00

PLACE:  There is a Mexican feel to Margarita's. It was nicely decorated and spacious. Service was good.

My overall personal rating:  *C+*  CAPEESH
