HOURS: 11:30am-2pm, M-Sat; 6pm-10pm, Daily
LOCATION: Westin Hotel, 105 Gun Beach Road, Tumon
FOOD: For an appetizer, we ordered the Tempura Crunch Roll, which was very good and it was more than enough for two people. For dinner, I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Teppanyaki set. I really enjoyed my meal; my plate was clean by the end as evidence of a good dinner. The steak was cooked at a perfect medium-well temperature with garlic chips, and the shrimp was not overcooked or dry. The sides included onions, bean sprouts and bell-peppers. I do wish it came with more vegetables though. The meal also included miso soup, salad, rice and the two sauces that usually come with the teppan meal.

I’d never heard of Issin before this, so it was somewhat of a gem considering the view and the taste. The price on the other hand left a little to be desired. But for Japanese teppanyaki at a Tumon hotel, it was also to be expected. All things considered, the dinner special was about right at $35 for the Chicken and Shrimp set. There were definitely pricier dishes to choose from, but my entree was complemented with salad, miso soup, grilled vegetables and rice. Food was tasty, server was so-so, and the chef was kind enough to bring finadene out to his local patrons. Would I come back? When I’m feeling like spending a little more, definitely. Plus, they had me at the Tempura Crunch Roll (and I heard they're known for their sushi, which I'll keep in mind for Round 2). I give Issin an [A-] rating. ~La-Di Da-Di
PRICE: The price was a bit outrageous. It was approximately $40 for the entree and a little more than $10 for the sushi, but even with the price I would definitely eat there again.
PLACE: The restaurant was nice and clean, and the view was beautiful during sunset. It’s a perfect setting for a romantic date. As for the service, I could only describe it as okay.
