28. GOLDEN SEA RESTAURANT

PHONE: 671.734.0278
LOCATION: Route 8,  Across Tiyan Main Gate, Barrigada

I haven’t been to Golden Sea for years and it hasn’t changed a bit. Situated in the same location and frequented by a longstanding local clientele. I remember mostly the tasty Fried Chicken, but we bypassed it and instead went for the for the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, Honey Walnut Shrimp (both the nightly special) and Wonton Soup. Though Honey Walnut Shrimp is not usually my first pick at a Chinese restaurant, I'd say they make it better than most I’ve tried. It didn’t have too much batter or too much mayo -- my preference for anything that's battered or has mayo. It was my first time trying Wonton Soup and it ended up being my favorite dish for the evening; served nice and hot with vegetables and a well-seasoned broth. Split between two, the meal came to about $15/each and we had a good amount of leftovers. Not too bad for three dishes, which could’ve easily served 4 people. Would I come back? Probably not for a while, but I’ll keep it on the list for a quick, affordable weekday dinner in the Barrigada neighborhood. I give Golden Sea Restaurant a [B].     ~ La-Di Da-Di

WON TON SOUP
FOOD: Golden Sea is one of the few restaurants located in the village of Barriagada. Being a resident in the area, I’ve become a regular. We ordered the Won Ton Soup, Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs, and Honey Walnut Shrimp.  All dishes were pretty good, and I order them regularly.

PRICE: Prices are reasonable.

PLACE: Restaurant is clean and service is always timely.

My overall personal rating: *B+*     ~ CAPEESH
